BITCOIN ETFS BLEED $201.9M, ENDING A NINE-DAY BUYING RUN
ARK 21Shares' ARKB drove it, with $114.9M of redemptions. Even BlackRock's IBIT, the engine of the preceding run, shed $33.4M on the day.

🔴 $201.9 million walked out of US Bitcoin ETFs on Friday, ending a nine-day inflow streak.
CryptoSlate reports the run had pulled in $3.0442 billion before it broke. Friday erased about 6.6% of that.
The damage, per Farside Investors data cited by CryptoSlate: ARK 21Shares' ARKB led with $114.9 million of redemptions. Bitwise's BITB lost $49.7 million. BlackRock's IBIT, which drove much of the preceding buying, shed $33.4 million. VanEck's HODL lost $13.2 million. A $9.3 million inflow into Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Trust softened it slightly.
📉 Price moved with it. Bitcoin fell about 3.2% to $77,696 on Aug. 28, with reported volume rising to roughly $39.47 billion from $34.03 billion.
The rest of the crypto ETF complex did the opposite. Ethereum funds added $102.1 million, a tenth straight session and more than $1.5 billion over the run. XRP funds took in about $26 million. Solana funds added $17.3 million.
CryptoSlate is careful on the read: fund-level data does not identify individual buyers, so this does not prove money rotated out of Bitcoin and into the rest. Bitcoin ETFs still finished the five sessions through Aug. 28 with about $924.5 million of net inflows.
Scale matters too. US Bitcoin ETFs have taken in about $54.6 billion since launch and manage roughly $97 billion. One $201.9 million day is small against that.
Monday is the test. One green day makes Friday a pause.
