A 440-ACRE IRISH CASTLE JOINS THE ZUCKERBERG PORTFOLIO

🔴 A 196-year-old Irish castle on 440 acres, estimated at up to $35 million, now belongs to Mark Zuckerberg.

Fortune reports the Meta CEO and Priscilla Chan bought Strancally castle in Waterford, Ireland, a gothic-style mansion overlooking the River Blackwater.

Built in 1830. Extensively renovated in 2003. Three storeys, 11 main bedrooms, 16,000 square feet of living space, and sprawling lawns across 440 acres.

The price is not public. The transaction was not listed on the Irish state property price register, and The Irish Times estimates the value at between €20 million (around $23.3 million) and €30 million (roughly $35 million).

There is a business logic sitting behind the postcard. Meta's international headquarters are in Dublin, about 125 miles away. A spokesperson for Zuckerberg told Fortune the family is "excited to continue caring for this historic home" and will spend time in Ireland, where Meta keeps that international base. They will not live there full-time.

📈 The wider trend is the money story. Luxury firm Beauchamp Estates says £1.24 billion ($1.66 billion) of London property sold across 34 deals in the first half of this year, against £694.1 million ($928 million) across 27 properties in the same stretch of 2025. Americans accounted for 30% of all UK home sales above $20 million, up from 20% at the end of 2025.

Ken Griffin set the earlier marker: a $122 million Georgian mansion near Buckingham Palace in 2019.
