$237M IN BITCOIN JUST MOVED OFF METAPLANET'S BOOKS TO COINBASE PRIME
Metaplanet built its name on buying Bitcoin and never selling. A deposit this size at an exchange desk breaks that pattern, and the firm has given no reason for it.

🚨 $237 million worth of Bitcoin just left Metaplanet and landed at Coinbase Prime.
Cryptonews.net reports the Japan-based Bitcoin treasury firm made the transfer as the broader crypto market cooled.
Why it matters: Metaplanet is known for one thing. Buying Bitcoin, steadily, and holding it. A nine-figure deposit at a US institutional exchange desk is the opposite direction of travel.
The firm has not explained the move.
Market participants cited by Cryptonews.net read it as the company turning cautious, or moving to secure profits banked during the recent price rally.
The timing is doing a lot of the work here. Bitcoin has pulled back from its upside and is trading in the red, with investors trading carefully again and some selling into strength.
The caveat is real and worth stating plainly. Sending Bitcoin to a venue like Coinbase Prime does not mean the Bitcoin was sold. Custody, collateral and internal reshuffles all look identical on-chain. No sale has been confirmed.
But size and timing are why this one got attention rather than a shrug. When a company whose whole strategy is accumulation moves $237 million toward a place where selling is possible, the market reads it as a signal whether or not one was intended.
🔴 If a treasury firm this committed is moving coins to an exchange in a downturn, does the buy-and-never-sell model hold?
Do you think Metaplanet sold, or is this just custody housekeeping?
