US TARGETS THE MIDDLEMEN KEEPING IRAN'S ECONOMY ALIVE
The threat is secondary sanctions: penalties aimed at the companies and countries doing business with Iran rather than at Iran itself. China is Tehran's biggest trading partner.

🚨 Washington is now threatening the companies that trade WITH Iran, not just Iran.
CNBC reports the Trump administration unveiled a plan on Monday to isolate Iran's economy by threatening secondary sanctions on what it called the "enablers" keeping the Islamic Republic in business.
The administration dubbed it "Operation Economic Outcast" and hyped it as Iran's "Economic D-Day."
The distinction matters for money. Direct sanctions hit Iranian entities. Secondary sanctions hit everyone else who does business with them, which means banks, shippers, traders and refiners outside Iran suddenly have to price in US penalty risk.
That is why the first question was about China. Per CNBC, the plan immediately drew questions over whether the US would go after Tehran's top trading partner, and the administration signalled China would not be exempt.
No target list, no timeline and no dollar figures were attached at the unveiling.
Do you think Washington actually enforces this against Chinese buyers?
