$4 BILLION FOR THE ANGELS, A RECORD MLB PRICE
Stan Kroenke is paying 10 times the team's 2025 revenue. The Padres sold for $3.9 billion last month at eight times revenue, and that multiple gap is why every other franchise just repriced.

🚨 $4 billion for the Los Angeles Angels. A record price for an MLB team, and it just repriced the whole league.
Stan Kroenke has agreed to buy the club from the Moreno family, CNBC reports. The valuation covers both the team and its regional sports network, Angels Broadcast Television.
The math is what matters. CNBC puts the deal at 10 times the Angels' 2025 revenue. The $3.9 billion Padres sale, approved by MLB last month, priced at eight times revenue.
So CNBC rebuilt its MLB valuations around multiples, market and stadium economics.
📈 The average MLB team is now worth $4.04 billion, up 37% from CNBC's March numbers.
The Yankees remain the most valuable franchise at $12 billion, up 28%. The Mets, now $5.4 billion, climbed to fifth and passed the Giants and Phillies. The Marlins are still last, but at $2.2 billion, a 57% jump.
Bankers CNBC spoke with pointed to location as the driver of trophy appeal. The example: Josh Kushner and Bob Iger agreeing to buy the Lakers at a $12.5 billion valuation.
One franchise did not move. CNBC left the Dodgers at $8 billion, citing the controversy surrounding owner Mark Walter.
