$4.3M GONE FROM TRUST ACCOUNTS, BRAMPTON LAWYER CHARGED

🚨 About $4.3 million in losses. Four separate alleged fraud schemes. One former Brampton lawyer now facing charges.

RED FM Canada reports that Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a former Brampton lawyer after a Fraud Bureau investigation into alleged mortgage and cheque fraud involving trust accounts, mortgages and legal transactions.

Police say the investigation opened in August, following multiple complaints received between June and July, and covered four separate alleged schemes with roughly $4.3 million in losses to victims.

The accused is Pawanjeet Singh Mann, 52, of Brampton, arrested on August 21, 2026.

The charge sheet, per police: four counts each of fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of criminal breach of trust, and two counts of uttering forged documents.

🔴 The regulatory part came first. Police say Mann previously operated PJ Mann Law Professional Corporation, and that in July 2025 the Law Society Tribunal of Ontario revoked his licence after finding he knowingly participated in a mortgage fraud scheme in late 2019.

Investigators believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward, and are asking anyone affected to contact the Peel Regional Police Fraud Bureau at 905-453-2121, extension 3335.

Police are also reminding the public to verify a legal professional's credentials and current standing with the Law Society of Ontario before wiring money or signing anything.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
