$23M WRONGFUL DEATH SUIT AFTER A HEADACHE SENT HOME
The complaint says Brandon Harris arrived with vomiting, vertigo, neck pain and memory loss, and was told it was a tension headache from anxiety and panic attacks.

🔴 A $23 million wrongful death lawsuit has been filed after a 26-year-old was sent home from urgent care with what he was told was a minor tension headache.
UNILAD reports that Brandon Harris walked into Providence Urgent Care in Sherwood, Oregon in March with a severe headache, shooting head pain when he coughed or sneezed, memory loss, vertigo, dizziness, neck pain and vomiting.
According to the complaint, he had never had headaches before. He was told it was a tension headache brought on by anxiety and panic attacks.
No further testing. No follow-up consultation.
Three days later his fiancee found him unresponsive. He was pronounced dead the same night. The couple were due to marry on August 16.
The cause was a ruptured aneurysm. The complaint says the hemorrhage crushed the base of his brain, and that his symptoms were classic for a bleeding cerebral aneurysm.
His family argue the death was preventable. Per the complaint: had the standard of care been met, the subarachnoid hemorrhage would have been diagnosed and treated in time to save his life.
Jeffrey Young, an attorney for Brandon's parents, told Oregon Live that with emergency surgery he would probably still be here, and that it is the provider's job to know when an everyday complaint is a warning sign of something life-threatening.
Providence told UNILAD it will not comment on pending litigation. Nothing here has been decided in court.
Have you ever been sent home from a clinic and told it was nothing?
